Charity events and quiz nights in Bournemouth
Last updated: 8 October 2026
A club, PTA or charity committee can hire the function room for a quiz night. Ashbury Lounge hires it privately, one event at a time, and Westbourne Rotary Club held their tropical evening here on 3 July 2026.
A microphone and a projector screen are already on site for the quizmaster, with speakers if you need them. The function room holds up to 100 standing or 60 seated, a short walk from the seafront on Bath Road.
No obligation … bring the committee to see the room, then decide. Or call 01202 144484.
Where can a club hold a quiz night in Bournemouth?
Ashbury Lounge's function room on Bath Road, hired privately to one club, PTA or committee for the evening.
A club has already had the room to itself. On 3 July 2026 Westbourne Rotary Club took over the function room for their tropical evening … leis, loud shirts.
That is the kind of booking this page covers: a club, a PTA or a committee with the room to itself for one evening, and the kitchen, the bar and the kit already in the building.

What does the quizmaster need to bring?
The microphone and the projector screen are already here. Plan the night around what is not:
- Bring a projector and a laptop. The screen is on site and the projector is not, so a picture round or a slideshow runs on your own kit.
- Test your slides before the night. The venue's advice is to check your equipment works with what is here. Access before the event can be booked, so the check can happen then.
- Ask for speakers for a music round. They are available if required, so say so when you book.
- Keep the scores on a laptop or phone. There is wifi for guests.

How many people can a charity evening take?
The function room holds up to 100 standing or 60 seated. For a seated meeting, plan on around 50.
There is no minimum number for a sit-down meal, so a small committee dinner is as bookable as a full room.
Food comes from the in-house kitchen, from canapés and a buffet through to a sit-down meal, with halal available. If your evening has a reason to bring food in, ask when you enquire.
What is there for guests between rounds?
The bar has a pool table, a dartboard and a large wall-mounted screen. Pool carries a small charge a game.
Drinks all come through the bar, so there is no bringing your own. Music finishes by 11pm and the bar stays licensed until midnight; the evening receptions page shows how a night here runs around those two times.

Can the committee set up the room beforehand?
Yes. Access before the event can be arranged for dropping off banners and decorations. It needs booking in advance.
Decorate the room yourselves with banners, table settings and photos, have Ashbury's in-house person set it up for you, or book the decorating as a full package. Candles on the tables are no trouble.

Where do guests park for an evening on Bath Road?
There is on-site parking, paid on site: 30 spaces, shared with the hotel and first come, first served. Once those are gone, a public car park, Bath Road North by the Pavilion Theatre, is a short walk away.
The bar is step-free and the function room is up three small steps, worth knowing if your members include older guests.
Charity nights sit alongside the other celebrations and community evenings Ashbury hosts in Bournemouth.
If the fundraiser is your company's, the corporate events page covers work bookings, and private venue hire explains how any booking works.
